Happy Book Birthday to Grant, Alison, and the town of Strawberry KY! I can’t believe one year ago I released my debut novel during a global pandemic on the first-ever social media black-out day. I was certain my dream was over just as it was beginning. What I didn’t know was the Universe had put me in a circle of knowledgeable, helpful, kind, wonderful people who were willing to help me put Strawberry on the paranormal romance map. What are the spirals under me o the right? The 7 completed Strawberry manuscripts I have on my desktop including Smoother Than Spumoni coming on 8/23/2021!
My writing career began because my husband dared me to write a novel and then left me behind to go save the world. I had only seen KY on TV until I moved there, and I wanted to find an accepting community in my new state, so wrote about it. At that point in my life, I didn’t know that if you repeat a wish often enough, the Universe will make it so and I would get my community of peers at TWRP.
When my author idol suggested I publish small press, I had never heard of this option. At The Wild Rose Press, I found a community just like the one I created in Strawberry. Accepting everyone and always willing to help a newbie, this talented group of authors, editors, graphic designers, and publishing professionals found a place for me in their ranks. The people make it the best publishing house in the business, and I can’t thank them enough. I would not have grown into who I am today without them. Most of all, I want to thank the one who saw my vision and stood by my side through Strawberry’s journey from a thought to a book series – my editor Lill Farrell. Thank you for going around in circles with me – whether it is because I’m correcting a comma splice or I’m happy dancing around my kitchen.
What’s next for the Strawberry Shifters? Join me on 6/18/2021 from 10 am – 6 pm EST in the I LOVE romance books! Facebook group for the cover reveal for Smoother Than Spumoni and a celebration of all things Strawberry Shifters…and the morning will probably have some party crashers from Dance to a Wylder Beat too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/262774088092512
