Happy Release day! I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this fantastic book to review and I can’t wait to share it with you. I flew across the pages and was upset the book was ending. I never wanted to leave the world created by Davis. Here is my full review: A Maple Cookie Homecoming by Judy Ann Davis is about family and second chances. High school flames, Julien and Natalie (Pinky!), are reunited in their hometown after they find heartache elsewhere. Julien, and his rescue dog, not only won the hearts of the townspeople instantly but won mine too. His easy-going personality and humor make him positively swoon-worthy. My favorite scenes included banter between him and his little brother (a swoon-worthy troublemaker). The relationship between his parents is adorable and I want their story as a prequel! Natalie’s broken heart doesn’t stop her from taking in the school children of the town. I loved her bookshop / after-school hangout. I wanted to be one of the teens she shelters there. She’s the type of heroine who deserves a happily ever after but frankly, I didn’t want the book to end. Overall, I highly recommend A Maple Cookie Homecoming as a holiday romance to kick your holiday spirit into high gear. Maybe we will get lucky, and she will write the brother’s story next Christmas…hint, hint.
